Chemical Peeling

Skin polishing or microdermabrasion is a scientific technique to exfoliate the skin in order to remove dead skin and bring a soft, smooth, youthful radiance of the skin. Quite often, this procedure is undertaken in order to remove the scars that have erupted as a result of some accident, chicken pox, surgery or acne. It may also be used to cure hyperkeratosis which can turn cancerous, along with damaged skin conditions arising out of age, sunlight, hyper-pigmentation, stretch marks and acne scars. Expertise of the best dermatologists in Delhi should be availed in order to get the best results. You should not expect magic but there is definitely a difference between the confidence of patients who have undergone skin polishing and those who haven’t. You look younger, age-defiant, and your face becomes more pleasing to onlookers.

How it is done?

Prior to skin polishing, dermatologists ensure that the patient’s face is thoroughly washed and then a rough wire brush is passed over the face many times in order to make the skin even. It uses vacuum in order to ensure that the skin comes in contact with the microdermabrasion head that has diamond crystals which make the scarred areas of the skin even in line with the surrounding areas. This tool is also called a DERMATONE (burr) which looks like an electric shaving razor and it has a motorized handle with diamond crystals. The head of the dermatone has an oscillating blade that moves forward and backwards skimming the skin in its way and bringing it on an even keel with the surrounding skin to make the scar disappear. There may be a certain amount of redness in the skin after the procedure but it is temporary and it gives way to soft, smooth skin after a few days. It takes about 30-45 minutes for the entire procedure to conclude and remove facial defects.

Precautions:

Disclose all medications that you are taking to your dermatologist in Delhi before embarking upon this procedure when suggested by the skin specialist. Stop applying all creams and ointments that you have been using two days prior to the procedure. Do not wear any make up before or after the procedure. Avoid heat, dust, sauna, Jacuzzi messages for a week after the procedure in order to ensure ideal results in line with your expectations.

Laser peel and radio surgery

The use of lasers has increased phenomenally in the past two decades globally to treat skin defects. Skin polishing through lasers is usually done by a carbon-dioxide powered laser that exfoliates, refines the rough edges in the polishing process and makes the skin soft, supple and smooth to touch. Laser peels increase the lymphatic drainage of the skin in order to avoid relapse of acne, blackheads, and whiteheads. Quite safe and reliable, lasers will change the way skin treatments are undertaken in the coming few decades.Radiosurgery uses high frequency radio waves which are directed at the problem areas to kill the cancerous cells and are very effective in the treatment of skin cancers.
